The Coastal Engineering Research Board (CERB) will meet at Presidio San Francisco, Sept. 9-10, to review current coastal engineering challenges within the Pacific Coastal region.
The CERB is a congressionally-authorized advisory board which provides advice to the Chief of Engineers on research and development pertaining to coastal engineering. The board meets annually at various coastal and Great Lakes locations and is comprised of U.S. Army Corps of Engineers senior officers and civilian engineers/scientists who are coastal engineering experts.
Discussion will focus is on “ System Resiliency – Linking Navigation Dredging, Beneficial Use, Ecosystem Restoration and Coastal Storm Risk Management. ” This includes regional sediment management and beneficial reuse of dredged material to improve the resilience of coastal systems and to identify research and technology needed to meet those challenges.
The meeting is open to the public and will be held at the Observation Post, 211 Lincoln Blvd.
