The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has given Gassco AS consent to use the Valemon rich gas pipeline between the Valemon and Heimdal fields in the North Sea.

The consent applies to the use of the rich gas pipeline between the Valemon field and the riser facility at the Heimdal field.

The Valemon rich gas pipeline has a total length of 177 kilometres and comprises the Valemon gas pipeline and Huldra rich gas pipeline, which runs from the Valemon gas pipeline connection point to the riser facility at the Heimdal field.

Gassco AS is the operator for the Valemon rich gas pipeline.

The Valemon field lies around 10 kilometres west of the Kvitebjørn field in the northern part of the North Sea. The field is under development, with scheduled production start in late 2014. Valemon is operated by Statoil.

The Valemon field has been developed using a fixed production facility with a steel jacket. The platform will be tied back to Kvitebjørn through a condensate pipeline and to Heimdal through a rich gas pipeline.
