A comprehensive online data management portal for wind measurement campaigns has been launched by SgurrEnergy this month to allow developers to interactively manage large scale or global wind measurement campaigns.

Built and operated by SgurrEnergy’s in-house analysts, SgurrDataPortal was designed and developed using over 10 years of data recovery and analysis experience, with further input from wind farm developers. It captures a range of data from onshore and offshore meteorological mast instrumentation and lidar and sodar devices, storing and displaying the data for subsequent analysis.

The portal allows instant access to campaign documentation and reports at the click of a button, keeping a comprehensive event log for each device and allowing users to stay connected with issues and observations on-site.

Interactive graphs and charts enable quick visualisation of data with the opportunity to further analyse and export the raw data gathered by the measurement devices.

Robbie Gibson, SgurrEnergy’s director of measurement , said: “The SgurrDataPortal web service takes measured data management to the next level. This high quality online tool has been developed with input from wind farm developers, making it the most comprehensive tool of its kind on the market.

“Our expert measurement engineers and technicians can maximise the value of the data by providing detailed analysis and advice on key trends to allow clients a global perspective on the status of their measurement campaign.”

SgurrEnergy has a wealth of experience in wind measurement and some recent projects include the installation of two offshore met mast platforms for the East Anglia Offshore Wind development, and the installation of two SgurrMetMasts in Malawi as part of the Malawi Renewable Energy Acceleration Programme- the first met masts in Malawi.
