Sevenson Environmental Services, Inc, Niagara Falls, New York, has been awarded a $14.3 million firm-fixed-price contract for environmental dredging of the Atlantic Wood Industries Superfund Site, Portsmouth, Virginia.

The contract also includes handling of approximately 330,000 cubic yards of dense non-aqueous phase liquid creosote contaminated sediments that will be dredged from the site.

Other activities associated with this project include approximately 425,000 vertical linear feet of prefabricated vertical drains installation, geotechnical engineering instrumentation installation, underwater debris removal, and site grading.

Work will be performed in Portsmouth, Virginia, with an estimated completion date of September 30, 2017. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Norfolk, Virginia, is the contracting activity.
