Prysmian Bags Jack-Up Cabling Deal in China

Prysmian Group has been recently awarded a new order in China by Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding (SWS), a wholly owned subsidiary of China CSSC Holding, to supply 320 kilometers of NEK 606 offshore cables for its new 2+2 CJ46-X100-D jack-up (self-elevating) drilling rigs.

The CJ46-X100-D jack-up drilling rig is regarded as a leading international benchmark in today’s offshore market. With its world class equipment, this type of platform meets ABS standards and requirements and is mainly used for exploration, drilling, and operation of oil and gas with a drilling efficiency of over 20%-50% more than other similar platforms.

According to Richard Wang, Offshore Sales China , “We were able to win such an important project by providing first-class quality,excellent customer services and teamwork from operation to commercial team.”

Prysmian has also been recently awarded by Nantong COSCO, a subsidiary of China Ocean Shipping Company (COSCO), a contract to supply 600 kilometers of offshore power cables (MV and LV) for 2+2 OCEAN 500 semi-submersible accommodation vessels.
