LEGOLAND® will launch an event called ‘Wild about Wind’ on 4 October at the LEGOLAND® event area.

Since 2008, it has been possible to follow the energy’s journey from the bottom of the sea to the consumer by means of fantastic LEGO® animated models in the Miniland area ‘The energy in Denmark’ at LEGOLAND®. Now, the park extends the educational exhibition with an actual event: ‘Wild about Wind’ where children and adults can learn about wind and energy and try a lot of crazy children’s activities.

Among other things, the children can challenge their parents and find out who is the fastest to pedal hard enough to get the dynamo light to shine, or you can throw yourself into the large wind challenge and guess how strong the wind is blowing.

“In LEGOLAND®, play and learning go hand in hand. With this event, we want to create a funny day where the children by playing and participating in a lot of exciting activities can get a better understanding of how the huge forces of offshore wind can be used for the production of electricity for households, among other things,” said Christian Woller, CEO of LEGOLAND® .

Crazy experiments with Kåre from the Danish children’s show ‘Store Nørd’

The children can also look forward to experiencing Kåre from the Danish Broadcasting Corporation’s children’s show ‘Store Nørd’ in action. With his crazy and quirky experiments, he will mix play and learning in a way that will make every junior scientist want to experiment further at home in the living room – and the adults can also learn something when it fizzles with fire and high blasts are emitted from the stage.

During the day, there will be a wide range of activities and funny competitions at the event area which in honour of the occasion is decorated with huge 160cm in diameter balloons and three-meter high offshore wind turbines on stage. The guests can eg build their own offshore wind turbines of LEGO® bricks or participate in the large ‘Wild about Wind’ quiz.

Additionally, more than 10,000 small-scale wind turbines will be distributed to the guests, and they can be used for spinning at home in the garden or on the balcony when the wind is blowing hard.

The ‘Wild about Wind’ event is being organised in close cooperation with the park’s partners DONG Energy, A2SEA and Siemens Wind Power who will also be present at the area – ready to answer questions such as how do you build a wind turbine, how does it work, and how do you install it in the middle of the sea?
