MacGregor, part of Cargotec, has won a series of deck equipment orders from Chinese shipbuilder Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry Co Ltd.

The winches and deck machinery packages will be fitted to six vessels under construction at the yard.

Two 100m 300-person accommodation/work barges will each feature eight-point mooring systems, with an 85-tonne line pull/150-tonne brake holding capacity, tugger winches and capstans.

These vessels are scheduled to be delivered from the second quarter of 2015 to the third quarter of 2016. The remaining four 99.8m accommodation/installation maintenance and repair vessels will each feature a range of deck machinery with delivery planned from the third quarter of 2015 through to the second quarter of 2016.

“The offshore accommodation and support services market is growing in the Asia Pacific region,” says Francis Wong , Vice President, Segment Sales, MacGregor Offshore.

“MacGregor continues to strengthen its position in this market and is one of only a few companies that can deliver low-pressure hydraulic, high-pressure hydraulic and electrically-driven mooring systems.”

He adds: “This widely based portfolio is backed-up by our strong lifetime support services and worldwide presence.”
