Huisman’s Multi-lay System with exchangeable reels and the 4,000mt offshore mast crane (as delivered to Heerema’s Aegir) has been nominated for this year’s Maritime Innovation Award.

The Maritime Innovations Award was introduced in the year 2000 by Netherlands Maritime Technology, the Dutch association of maritime suppliers, to increase awareness for the innovative power of the maritime and offshore supply industry and to encourage innovative developments within the maritime cluster.

The winning innovation must be applied in practice, be sold to at least one relevant customer and must meet the following criteria:

– widely applicable within the maritime sector; – good sales and export potential; – demonstrable Dutch added value.

Over the years, Huisman has won the award twice, in 2012 for the Dual Multi-Purpose Tower and in 2007 for Complex Subsea Pipelay Systems.

The winner will be announced during the Maritime Awards Gala on Thursday 6th November.
