‘Borgland Dolphin’ renewal contract for Bergen

Bergen Group Hanøytangen AS has been awarded a rig upgrade contract from Dolphin Drilling AS.

The contract is for upgrades and 5-year Class Renewal Survey (CRS) on the semi-submersible production and exploration rig Borgland Dolphin and it is based on the Letter of Intent announced on September 15, 2014.

The project has an estimated revenue value in the range of NOK 350 million ($54.93 million). The major work scope will be carried out in Q4 2014 in the dry dock at Hanøytangen, and the project will be accomplished by Bergen Group Hanøytangen in collaboration with Apply Rig & Modules.

Bergen Group Hanøytangen AS is a fully owned subsidiary of Bergen Group ASA, a well-established supplier of products, services and solutions to the offshore and maritime industry. The core activities are focused on Rig Service, Maritime Service, Subsea & Offshore Service and Decommission.

Borgland Dolphin is a semi-submersible mobile drilling rig, type Aker H-3. It was built at Harland & Wolff in Belfast, Northern Ireland in 1977 and underwent extensive upgrades in 1999. The facility is owned by Borgland Dolphin Pte Ltd and operated by Dolphin Drilling A/S. It received an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) in September 2004.
