Geospace Technologies Corporation has entered into an agreement with an international seismic contractor to rent 4,000 stations of its cable-less OBX ocean bottom nodal system.

The contract term is for 180 days and delivery of the OBX system is expected to occur in January 2015.

The OBX system is designed for cable-free flexible subsea recording via high fidelity digitized 4C sensors. The self-contained 24-bit recorder offers long term on-station deployment through the 16 GB memory and extended-life battery capacity.

Geospace Technologies Corporation designs and manufactures instruments and equipment used by the oil and gas industry to acquire seismic data in order to locate, characterize and monitor hydrocarbon producing reservoirs. The company also designs and manufactures non-seismic products, including industrial products, offshore cables, thermal printing equipment and film.
