SgurrEnergy was announced as a contender at the Scottish Green Energy Awards, after being shortlisted as a finalist in the export category at a networking reception at the Glasgow Science Centre.

Hosted by Scottish Renewables, the awards aim to highlight business development, growth, investment and innovation in the renewable energy industry in Scotland. The export award recognises the outstanding achievements of a Scottish-based company which is operating in overseas markets, and celebrates that company’s international presence and successes.

Technical director and joint founder of SgurrEnergy, Ian Irvine , said: “SgurrEnergy has grown from a small, Glasgow-based business to a global consultancy in a matter of years and I am extremely proud of our achievements to date. As an established Scottish business, delivering renewable energy expertise internationally, we are delighted to be recognised for our successes by being shortlisted for the export award.”

With a growing global presence, SgurrEnergy boasts over 200 staff across eleven offices, working on projects in 70 countries. The team supported Mongolia’s first wind farm from inception to completion last year, a milestone achievement for the country and a testimony to SgurrEnergy’s international expertise.

Galion Lidar, SgurrEnergy’s wind profiler device, also has a worldwide presence and has successfully measured and characterised the wind onshore and offshore, with global deployments on both pre-construction and operating wind farms.

Winners will be announced on November 27 at the prestigious Scottish Green Energy Awards dinner at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre, Edinburgh.
