NYS: Sediment Sampling Starts on October 9

New York State Canal Corporation announced that river bottom sediment sampling will be occurring on the Upper Hudson River/Champlain Canal between Thursday, October 9th and Friday October 17th. New York State Canal Corporation announced that river bottom sediment sampling will be occurring on the Upper Hudson River/Champlain Canal between Thursday, October 9th and Friday October 17th.

The sediment sampling schedule is as follows:

– Thursday & Friday and Monday & Tuesday; October 9 & 10 and 13 & 14: south of Lock C-1, between Lock C-1 and buoy R “20”;

– Wednesday-Friday October 15-17: Fort Edward Yacht Basin to buoys R “228” & G “229”.

Mariners are to transit by the sampling vessel at a “No Wake” speed not to exceed 5 MPH.
