Brig. Gen. Kent D. Savre, Commanding General of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers North Atlantic Division, talks with Raegan Medgie of the Weather Channel at an ongoing coastal storm damage risk reduction project site on Rockaway Beach in Queens, NY.

About 3 million cubic yards of sand is being pumped onto the project area, fully restoring it to its original design profile from Beach 19th St. to Beach 149th St.
