Offshore WIND’s photo of the day: CWind Ltd, a provider of services to the offshore wind industry, posted a photo of its CWind Endurance vessel working at the Westermost Rough offshore wind farm.
The CWind Endurance is working as a crew transfer vessel, supporting cable pull in work on Westermost Rough offshore wind farm as part of the company’s charter fleet.
The vessel is the next generation CWhisper SWATH 20m workboat, which allows much higher speeds than conventional catamarans in sea states of over 1 metre significant wave height and a dynamic ride control system greatly reduces roll and pitch for a comfortable transit.
Tests have also shown that the force needed to hold the vessel against the turbine transition piece is a quarter of that needed by a conventional workboat.
