BP will start production from its Kinnoull field in the UK North Sea this month.

According to Bloomberg, Bob Dudley , the oil giant’s CEO shared the information on Thursday, October 9, at an event in London.

The Kinnoull field is one of the three reservoirs that are being developed as part of the rejuvenation of the Andrew area in the North Sea. The Kinnoull reservoir is connected to BP’s Andrew platform.

New subsea infrastructure, a new process module, and structural strengthening of the platform will allow Andrew to produce for at least another decade.

Production from Kinnoull is forecast to peak at 45,000 barrels per day and be exported via the existing Forties pipeline system to Kinnoul and the CATS pipeline system to Teesside.

BP has with its partners invested around £700 million in the project. BP owns 77.06%, with other interests as follows: Eni (16.67%); JX Nippon (6.27%).
