The Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) Norway has carried out an audit of the organisation of employee participation at Talisman’s Gyda organisation.
The PSA focused in particular on the structures, remits and coordination of the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) activities in the working environment committee and coordination of safety representation in the Gyda organisation.
Gyda field is located in the Norwegian part of the North Sea.
PSA says that employee participation is an important precondition for the continuous improvement of OHS work.
Through their participation, employees must be included in decision-making processes that affect occupational health and safety, and their ability to influence their own work situation must be provided for, PSA explains.
The purpose of the audit was to assess how employee participation, through the working environment committee and safety representative service, has been arranged so that Talisman’s offshore organisation, including contractors, meets the requirements of OHS legislation.
One non-conformity was detected, relating to deficient OHS training for managers.
