Work on E.ON’s Humber Gateway Offshore Wind Farm is well underway, according to data from KIS-ORCA.
Inter-array cables are being installed by the ‘Atlantic Carrier’, while 0Fugro Saltire’ is working on cable burial. ‘Stemat Spirit’ has also joined the project for cable installation and will stay on site for approximately 20 days, weather depending. She is conducting around-the-clock operations with the CTVs ‘Windcat 17’ and ‘Commodore P’ in attendance.
The Humber Gateway offshore wind Farm is located some 8km offshore from Easington, off East Yorkshire’s Holderness Coast. The wind farm will consist of 73 wind turbines, which will have an installed capacity of 219 megawatts (MW). Two cables will bring ashore the electricity at Easington from where six onshore cables will run underground to Salt End to connect the wind farm to the National Grid.
