DONG Energy has divested 5% of its UK Edradour field stake to Total E&P UK Limited. Prior to this divestment Total owned 75% of Edradour development, with DONG owning the rest.
Earlier this year Total, together with its partner DONG Energy, launched the development of the Edrodour gas filed.
The Edradour discovery is located in Block 206/4a, in approximately 300 meters of water, 75 kilometers northwest of the Shetlands.
The Total-DONG partnership has sanctioned the development of a production well and a 16 kilometer production pipeline tied back to the main Laggan-Tormore flowline.
“The development was put on hold in 2013 due to significant cost increases following the tendering process, but subsequent negotiations with the contractors have reduced the costs to an acceptable level, allowing us to successfully launch the project,” said Patrice de Vivies , Total’s Senior Vice President Exploration & Production, Northern Europe.
Technip has been awarded a contract for the Edradour Subsea Development. Technip’s operating centre in Oslo, Norway, will execute the project, while vessels from the Group fleet will perform the installation in the summer seasons of 2016 and 2017. The pipelines will be fabricated at Technip’s spoolbase at Evanton, UK, and installed by the Deep Energy.
Edradour is expected to start up in the fourth quarter of 2017.
