Delek Group’s gas subsidiaries said the period of validity of the proposal and acceptance in terms of a binding agreement for the supply of natural gas to Cyprus has been postponed from November 30, 2014 to January 31, 2015.

This decision follows the request by Cyprus’ gas company DEFA for the postponement of the public tender.

The tender entails supply of natural gas through pipelines from the Leviathan project to Cyprus.

The initial date was set to August 15, but DEFA requested the date to be set further back to November 30.

According to a Delek Group statement, the commercial examination process and the negotiation between DEFA and the bidders are expected to continue in the near future.
