Canada’s Husky Energy has announced the intent to award the contract for delivery of the Living Quarters for the White Rose Extension Project offshore Newfoundland to the Apply Leirvik/ GJ Cahill Partnership.

The scope of work is to engineer and build a four floors living quarters totaling 3500 square meters containing 70 double and 4 single cabins, recreation areas, administration center, control room including all facilities to run an offshore hotel. Apply LQ & HD Houston Front End Office has done the Project FEED.

The Apply Leirvik and GJ Cahill Partnership was formed for the delivery of the Hebron Living Quarters Project in 2012. Basic Engineering will be done at Stord with Detailed Engineering, Procurement and Construction being done on New Foundland. Apply Leirvik main tasks are engineering, project management and construction supervision.

Personnel from GJ Cahill will work at Stord in the first phase of the project with Apply Leirvik and Apply Emtunga personnel moving to St. John’s thereafter. The project will mobilise during December with full speed from start January 2015.

Fabrication of modules will start mid 2015 with sail away from Argentia/New Foundland mid 2016, to a topsides assembly location yet to be announced.

The White Rose oilfield is located on the northeastern Grand Banks approximately 350 kilometres east of St. John’s. Husky Energy is the majority owner and operator of the White Rose oilfield and its satellite expansions.
