Sinopec, China LNG Group to develop refueling stations

China LNG Group and Sinopec entered into a framework agreement to develop LNG refueling stations and LNG heavy duty trucking in China.

China LNG Group said that it has entered into a cooperation framework agreement with Sinopec to develop LNG refueling stations and application of LNG heavy duty trucks businesses in China.

Both parties intended to select two highways, Huhangyong highway, with a length of 151 km and Hang Pu highway, with a length of 112 km, as a pilot scheme for adding LNG refueling facilities in existing gas stations along these two highways, China LNG Group said in a statement.

Afterwards, Sinopec will increase the number of LNG refueling stations based on the demand and development of the LNG businesses of the company.

According to the deal, Sinopec responses to communicate with relevant government departments for handling application procedures in relation to adding LNG refueling facilities in existing gas stations. The company will also be responsible for the project design, construction, installation of equipments, testing and acceptance check, and it grants that LNG refueling stations will be in operation within six months after obtaining relevant approvals.

Sinopec will be responsible for the LNG supply and expansion and development of the LNG businesses, while China LNG Group will be responsible for the expansion of LNG vehicle markets by providing at least 100,000 LNG heavy duty trucks directly and 200,000 LNG heavy duty trucks indirectly by 2020 to provide long-term support.
