Global Tech I Offshore Wind GmbH is reorganizing its management team.

With the completion of the construction phase, Arjen Schampers finished his activities as Technical Managing Director in early November.

Dr. Jan Podbielski, the former General Project Manager for installation and commissioning has been appointed by the shareholders to the position of Technical Managing Director and will be responsible for the completion of the commissioning phase of the North Sea wind farm.

At the same time, Detlef Schmeer has been appointed as Technical Managing Director for the operation phase. Since April 2014, Mr. Schmeer has been an advisor on the development of operation at Global Tech I and he will also be responsible for the future operation in his new role.

The transmission system operator TenneT, which is responsible for the connection to the German electricity grid, has switched on the wind farm during the testing phase of its offshore transformer station BorWin beta in early September. The regular power supply should be available in early 2015. Once Global Tech I is fully operational, approximately 445,000 households can be supplied with environmentally friendly power.
