Norwegian seismic player SeaBird Exploration has secured a Letter of Award (LOA) for acquisition of 2D seismic data in the Mediterranean area.

The Letter of Award is from an undisclosed client and it’s conditional on approval.

According to SeaBird, the 2D acquisition is expected to start in the second half of 2015.

This LOA follows SeaBird’s recent award from TGS for the charter of up to six seismic vessels from over a period of approximately 36 months, estimated to start in the first half of 2015 and covers seismic data acquisition over Mexico and US Atlantic waters.

The survey will cover a minimum of 6000 kilometers and will have an estimated value of $6.0 million.
