Technip has reportedly set together the pre-FEED plans for an FLNG vessel with a 3.6 mtpa capacity.

According to Dominique Gadelle, vice president of upstream and LNG at Technip , the company will present the plans to China National Offshore Oil Corporation in Beijing next week, Interfax reports.

As Gadelle said, Technip worked with CNOOC on three proposed FLNG projects of 1 mtpa, 2.2 mtpa and 3.6 mtpa.

It is yet unsure where the vessel will be put to trial but it certainly affirms that the two companies are working together on an FLNG design

Senior engineer and director of the National Deepwater Research and Development Centre at CNOOC Yu Xichong said that CNOOC’s FLNG project is still in the design phase but if the vessel is found viable in the South China Sea, it would be able to operate anywhere in Chinese waters.

Project research and development and testing is expected to be over by 2015 with the FLNG project launch put between 2016 and 2020.
