Greek ANEK Lines together with several partners received the approval of European Union to take part in the Archipelago-LNG program.
ANEK applied for funds to support the conversion of its ferry to run on LNG.
The Archipelago-LNG program promotes sustainable maritime transport with LNG between the Greek mainland and its islands in the Archipelagos.
Archipelago-LNG program offers support within EU’s TEN-T framework, by which the EU will fund half of the program’s total budget of EUR 1,146,180 through to December 31, 2015, according to reports by ANSA.
