Norwegian geophysical company, Magseis has secured a letter of intent (LOI) from an undisclosed international oil company for seabed seismic acquisition in the UK sector of the North Sea.

The project will be conducted using using the company’s proprietary MASS system and the Artemis Athene.

Magseis has designed and manufactured the Marine Autonomous Seismic System (MASS) which consists of the in-sea cable and sensor capsules, automated handling, and data download.

The work is expected to start towards the end of the first quarter of 2015 and has an expected duration of more than 100 days.

Magseis hasn’t reported the potential value of the project.
