A senior BP executive will be setting out the future for global energy at Energy: A Balanced Future , a conference organised by NOF Energy, the business development organisation for the oil, gas, nuclear, offshore and renewables sectors.

Energy: A Balanced Future , will present about the hot topics for the energy sector and discussions on March 11, 2015, at Sage Gateshead, will include the need for a balanced energy mix, and for the first time, future energies will be included.

Paul Appleby, Head of Energy Economics at BP , will present his thoughts on the direction the sector will take.

He said: “The conference is a key date that is attracting decision-makers from across the sector. I am looking forward to meeting some of them to discuss the issues we are facing.

“I’ll be covering the long term outlook for global energy, focussing on oil and gas but including all the primary fuels. This will be based on our BP Energy Outlook – the next edition will be published in February, so it will be relatively fresh for this conference.”

Joining Mr Appleby in a line-up of speakers from some of the biggest names in the sector will be Jon Gluyas of Durham Energy Institute, Nigel Lees of Wood Group PSN, Brent Cheshire of Dong Energy, Keith Parker of The Nuclear Industry Association (NIA), Jeffrey Blair of the Greater Houston Partnership, Kurt Foreman, Greater Oklahoma City Chamber and NOF Energy chairman Paul Charlton.

Alongside the conference, supported by platinum sponsors Invest North East England and gold sponsors, Draeger, Teesside University and Arefco Special Products, will be a large exhibition, where 70-energy related companies will showcase skills, products and services offered to the global energy sector.

Caroline Lofthouse, Business Development Manager at NOF Energy , said: “Energy: A Balanced Future is a major influence on a vibrant sector and this is reflected in the standard of experts it is attracting.

“It means delegates will be getting the most cutting-edge opinions and guidance from the people who are shaping the future of our industry.”
