CorPower Ocean has been awarded EUR 100 000 in the category “Ocean Economy” at the Building Global Innovators Awards, KIC InnoEnergy announced.

CorPower Ocean now has the chance to win an additional EUR 100,000 in the Grand Finale scheduled for February 26, 2015.

The jury considered CorPower’s Wave Energy Converters as the most competitive business idea among several hundred screened applications.

The fifth edition of Building Global Innovators Awards attracted applications from over 30 countries.

The Wave Energy Converters (WEC) developed by CorPower Ocean are small and light with low inertia that can be energized by a broad range of waves, according to the company.

KIC InnoEnergy, a company dedicated to promoting innovation, entrepreneurship and education in the sustainable energy field, is the developer partner of CorPower Ocean.
