Ocean Yield Sells Geco Triton Seismic Vessel

Ocean Yield ASA has announced the sale of its seismic survey vessel ‘Geco Triton’ to the charterer for USD 8.2 million. Ocean Yield ASA has announced the sale of its seismic survey vessel ‘Geco Triton’ to the charterer for USD 8.2 million.

Built in 1991 by Jurong Shipyard, Singapore, the ex-trawler is currently on charter with Schlumberger company, WesternGeco, until December 2015.

The sales price includes full payment of remaining charterhire until December 2015.

The current book value of the vessel is about USD 12 million.

The Geco Triton was converted to a seismic vessel in 1998.
