First Coastal Corporation and Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Corporation (GLDD) are working on a beach nourishment project in Westhampton, Suffolk County, New York.
Works on the Westhampton Interim Beach Nourishment Rehabilitation, part of the Hurricane Shore Protection Project, began on October 28, 2014.
GLDD is main dredging contractor for the West Hampton Dunes beach restoration project with First Coastal acting as a project liaison, providing professional services that will speed up this coastal project.
The latest video shows the project approximately 80% completed out of the total 1.530,000 cubic yards of sand that needs to be dredged and placed on the beach.
