The amount of dredged material removed in 2014 during works on St. Petersburg’s Bronka harbor project has passed the 15 million m³ mark.

According to a report from project investor Phoenix LLC, general contractor for the project Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V., who is working on the main access canal to the Marine Multipurpose Complex Bronka (MMPK Bronka) and its surrounding water area, has so far excavated a total of 15.24 million m³ of soil.

Boskalis won the EUR 130 million contract for dredging and construction of the Bronka Port shipping channel in St Petersburg from CJSC Baltstroy back in September 2013.

The project involves the construction of a 6 kilometer long and 14.4 m deep shipping channel, turning basin and berth pockets for the new port facility.

The project is expected to be completed in late 2015.
