First Coastal Corporation and Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Corporation (GLDD) together with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District, are working on a beach nourishment project in Westhampton, Suffolk County, New York.

The project aim is to repair and restore the previously built Westhampton Dunes coastal storm risk management project that was impacted by Hurricane Sandy.

Works on the Westhampton Interim Beach Nourishment Rehabilitation began on October 28, 2014.

The project involves placement of approx. 1.530,000 cubic yards of sand that needs to be dredged and placed on the beach.
