RXPE has won a design & build contract from DONG Energy for the supply of its Utility grade STATCOMs.

DONG Energy has selected RXPE through a competitive tender process to provide a turnkey deliver of a ±50MVAr MAXIVAR™ Utility grade STATCOM for its 256MW Burbo Bank Extension Offshore Wind Farm, comprising 32 turbines in Liverpool Bay.

RXPE will deliver this project from its office based in Altrincham, near Manchester, UK. The UK office was established in 2013 to support RXPE EPC projects in Africa and India. This project is the first for RXPE in the United Kingdom and the company said that it is in talks with other UK wind farm projects.

The RXPE MAXIVAR™ Utility grade STATCOM is probably the most advanced and reliable large scale STATCOM with an installed rating of up to ±300MVAr; purpose designed for transmission utility applications.

RXPE is a public-listed Chinese power electronics technology development company established in 1967 and has been developing high power STATCOM and associated technology for over 15 years.
