The largest ship in the world, ‘Pieter Schelte’ has arrived to the Port of Rotterdam today, Thursday January 08.
The ship will be docked in Alexiahaven where the final assembly will take place. The 65 metre long beams of the topsides lift system will be installed on the vessel during the first months of 2015.
Bibby Offshore’s Houston-based division, Bibby Subsea, has signed a three year contract with Bordelon Marine to charter a new vessel.
The Brandon Bordelon is an ultra-light intervention vessel (ULIV) and will start a three year charter in August 2015 primarily operating in the Gulf of Mexico.
Helix Energy Solutions Group, OneSubsea, and Schlumberger announced the execution of the definitive agreements for the companies’ non-incorporated alliance, formed to develop technologies and deliver equipment and services to optimize the value chain of subsea well intervention systems.
The alliance combines the expertise and capabilities of the three companies to provide a unique offering, integrating marine support with well-access equipment and control technologies.
Chevron has become the latest major operator to join Viper Subsea’s Joint Industry Project (JIP) to develop its Subsea Integrity Monitoring System known as V-IR.
The project, which began in October 2013, has already attracted Shell, BP and Total and the additional sponsorship by Chevron will allow for the functionality to be further enhanced as well as permitting an extended period of testing.
DOF Subsea has been awarded a Letter of Award (LOA) with an international oil company in the Asia Pacific region.
The LOA is for a 7 + 3 year IRM contract and the vessel Skandi Hawk is planned to be utilized under the contract. Skandi Hawk is of STX PSV 09 design, modified to be a ROV/Construction Support Vessel. Designed to support the development phase of an oil field, the Skandi Hawk can work as a CSV for construction, inspection and subsea survey.
