After the Atwood Mako jack-up rig began its new contract in Malaysia on January 2, Atwood Oceanics, Inc., a Houston-based owner of offshore rigs, has said it has secured more work for the jack-up rig.
The contract will be performed in Southeast Asia at an operating day rate of $155,000 for a minimum term of 70 days, and it includes a priced option for an additional term. The company did not reveal the name of the new client. The dayrate of $155.000 is higher that the rig’s current one of $145.000.
The Atwood Mako, built in 2012, is currently working for EnQuest , offshore Malaysia, and is expected to mobilize to its new location in late March, following completion of its current drilling contract.
