Terna Energy’s investment for the construction of a wind park with a capacity of 73.2 MW on St. George Island is entering its final stage with a goal to have it in operation by the end of 2015.

The EUR 150 million wind farm will produce enough electricity to power over 40,000 households per annum.

The wind park of TERNA ENERGY on St. George Island constitutes the largest investment in the area of electricity production from Renewable Energy Sources (RES) being implemented in Greece and the most innovative one since it incorporates a submarine connection between the island and the continental system.

In essence, it is the first on shore wind park with characteristics of an off shore wind park installation, exploiting the high wind potential of the Aegean Sea, to such a large scale.
