Rolls-Royce informed its LNG-fuelled Bergen engine fleet has reached a significant milestone.

According to the company, the Bergen fleet has accumulated over 20 million running hours.

When the shipping industry began to take an interest in LNG, Rolls-Royce was one of the first with medium-speed engine technology.

The Bergen engines boast power and efficiency in the 720-750rpm class with low emissions of NOx, CO2, SOx and particulates.

At present, no less than 42 Bergen LNG-fuelled marine engines are in service with more on order, according to Rolls-Royce.
