Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani, has officially launched the second phase of the Al Ruwais Port development project in Al Shamal .
According to the Qatar News Agency, the Prime Minister toured the first phase of the project and listened to a briefing on the different phases, the water channel, the operating equipment, the plan on the entry and exit of vessels, goods shipping, import and export, and equipment in the port’s facilities, including the terminal and the administrative building.
The second phase of the project will include deepening the navigation channel to 5m, the establishment of marine basins at depth of 7m, the creation of six quays at a total length of 1,414m to receive commercial vessels.
