Gardline CGG Pte Ltd has been awarded the Rocket 2D Phase 1 multi-client marine broadband seismic survey by Spectrum under a master service agreement signed in October 2014 between the two companies.
The company says that the vessel, M/V Duke, will start acquisition next week on completion of its current workscope. According to the company’s spokesperson, the start date of the project is January 23, 2015. The location of the broadband seismic survey is Western Australia, Carnarvon Basin.
The multi-client project, named Rocket and encompassing up to 10,000 line kilometers of 2D seismic, will be conducted in two phases between now and June. Gardline CGG says that M/V Duke will complete the 4,400 line kilometers of Phase 1 within the next 6 weeks.
Rocket is Spectrum’s first acquisition project in Australia and the company says it intends to unlock the potential of this region through this new seismic program.
Data will be acquired utilising a deep tow cable and then processed by DUGeo in Perth, Australia utilising their DUG Broad Deghosting. Spectrum says that Pre-STM and Pre-SDM will be available, complemented by a multi-beam seep study at the beginning of Q3 2015.
