Tocardo has deployed an array of three turbines at the sluice gate of Afsluitdijk, Den Oever.
The final preparations for the installation were conducted during previous weeks.
The turbines were loaded on a pontoon yesterday, and the installation took place earlier today, according to Dutch Tidal Testing Centre.
The T1 tidal turbine is the smallest in the Tocardo turbine range.
Its limited size and weight make it a suitable turbine for rivers and canals but also shallow tidal sites.
The turbines can be uni or bi directional, and its capacity is 42 – 98 kW.
