Williams Group Wins West Bank Back Levee Deal

The Plaquemines Parish Government has awarded West Bank Back Levee contract to Williams Group, of Boligee, Alabama.

“ The West Bank back levee from Empire to Fort Jackson is a key part of the extensive levee construction going on in Plaquemines Parish ,” said Plaquemines Parish President Amos Cormier, Jr. “ This levee is an integral part of the New Orleans to Venice (NOV), Hurricane Risk Reduction System. ”

Construction works on the $9.2 million contract are expected to begin within the next 30 to 45 days.

The project is expected to be completed by March of 2016.
