WERPO has signed a partnership agreement with ACEP to develop wave energy power plant off the coast of Ghana.
Wave Electricity Renewable Power Ocean (WERPO) and the Africa Center for Energy Policy (ACEP) will form a joint venture in Ghana, under which they plan to erect wave energy power station.
ACEP is expected to take care of all the necessary authorizations and lease approvals from the state for the project, and WERPO will provide its wave energy technology.
Shmuel Ovadia , director at WERPO and inventor of its proprietary sea wave energy technology, said: “This partnership agreement is a great step towards implementing WERPO’s unique sea wave energy in Ghana, where I believe there’s potential for tens of millions of dollars of revenues from the erection and sale of sea wave power plants.”
In mid-December, WERPO signed a partnership agreement with Seedsowers Investors and Developers Co . to facilitate the implementation of WERPO’s sea wave energy solution in the Caribbean, and on January 21, 2015, WERPO signed an agreement with Beijing Capital Group (BCG) granting them exclusive rights to represent the company in China.
ACEP is Ghana-based advisory organization working with partners around the world and especially in Africa to harness the potential of Africa’ energy resources.
WERPO, an Israeli wave energy company, has developed technology based on the utilization of sea waves’ rise and fall to yield hydraulic pressure that produces electricity, exploiting the potential of wave speed, height, depth and currents beneath the surface of the water.
