MCG made available multi-client 2D (MC2D) data for the Norwegian 23rd Concession Round announced January 20, 2015.

The Barents Well Tie MC2D was extended eastward in 2014 into the newly opened Barents Sea South East area, giving excellent seismic ties from exploration wells drilled in the western part of the Barents Sea and into the announced blocks in the east.

In addition, MCG has, in cooperation with SMNG, reprocessed a selection of existing 2D seismic profiles in the Russian part of the Barents Sea in order to tie known geological structures and discoveries such as Stockman and Sevmorkildinskoye into the un-explored Norwegian Barents Sea South East area, the company announced.

In cooperation with Exploro, MCG acquired and processed a Super High Resolution MC2D covering the announced blocks in the Hoop area, and covering the Wisting and Hanssen very shallow Jurassic oil discoveries.

The final processing of both the Barents Well Tie and the Super High Resolution MC2Ds are now completed and the datasets are available, MCG informed. Additional products as angle stacks and PSTM gathers are also available.

The deadline for 23rd Round application is December 2, 2015.
