The Takoradi Port dredging program, that will pave the way for other development projects to follow, is in full swing and on track for completion by late March or early April 2015.

Jan De Nul’s Cutter Suction Dredger (CSD) Nicolo Machiavelli is working on the project and has so far removed over 100,000 cbm of soil from the site.

The Takoradi Port Expansion Project includes construction of 1.1 km of additional breakwater, the port deepening and the construction of a 300 m long and 16 m deep bulk quay wall.

When fully finished, the dredging project will increase the depth of water from current 11 meters to 16 meters enabling the port to handle panamax vessels.
