Maersk Supply Service (MSS), part of the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group, has released an animation of the future addition to its fleet, four subsea supply vessels, to be built by COSCO (Dalian) Shipyard for over USD 470 million.
The MT6027 Marin Teknikk-design vessels will have a length of 138 metres, a beam of 27 metres and have a deadweight of 8,000t.
Features of the DP3-rated vessels include 1,925 sq. metres of free deck space, accommodation for 120 people and a 400t AHC crane, rated for operations in water depths of up to 3,000 metres.
The vessels will also have the option to install an under deck carousel for 3,000t of product plus be configured for a 275t vertical lay tower over the deck of the moon pool.
Each vessel will be equipped with 4x MaK M 32 E generator sets with a power output of 4,400 kW each and 2x MaK 8 M 20 C at 1440 kW each, provided by Caterpillar Marine’s MaK diesel electric propulsion (DEP) solutions.
Huisman will deliver four customized 400mt Rope Luffing Knuckle Boom Cranes and two 100mt Knuckle Boom Cranes onboard four new subsea support vessels (SSVs).
The newbuild vessels are scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2016 and the first half of 2017.
