BlueTec Texel Platform modules nearing completion at port of Amsterdam, February 23, 2015.
The modules are being produced at Niron Staal Amsterdam B.V., a specialized steel construction and machining company located in the port of Amsterdam.
This will be the first floating tidal platform that will feed the electricity into the Dutch grid.
The project represents a collaborative effort of Bluewater, Damen, Van Oord/Acta Marine, Tocardo, TKF, Vryhof, NIOZ, Nylacast and Tidal Test Centre.
It is scheduled for installation in March, 2015, in the Wadden sea, Netherlands.
