The offshore construction vessel Viking Neptun was delivered from Kleven Verft in Ulsteinvik, Norway, to Norwegian shipowner Eidesvik February 17, 2015.

Designed by Salt Ship Design, the 145 meters long and 31 meters wide vessel is the largest in Eidesvik’s fleet, and the largest ever built at Kleven Verft.

The Naming Ceremony for Viking Neptun took place at Skagenkaien Stavanger, this weekend.

Godmother of the subsea construction vessel is Patricia Pilenko, wife of Thierry Pilenko, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Technip.

Eidesvik entered into a contract with Kleven Maritime for building of a large subsea vessel back in 2012 and it represents the largest single investment in the company’s history.

This is what the launch of the vessel looked like in May 2014:

Furthermore, the Norwegian vessel owner announced it will hold an open ship day at Garpaskjerkaien in Haugesund today.

The ICE 1B-class ship that can handle large subsea installations is scheduled to start its contract for Technip Norway, with Reach Subsea providing the ROV services.
