The steel structures that make up the bioWAVE 250kW pilot unit have been fabricated and are currently undergoing machining, painting, and assembly.

The complete bioWAVE, with integrated O-Drive, will undergo onshore tests and commissioning in the coming months, before being transported to the ocean site near Port Fairy in Victoria, Australia, for deployment.

The 250kW bioWAVE pilot project is scheduled for installation in 2015. Components from Australia are being integrated into the fabricated structures at the Strategic Marine shipyard in Vietnam.

The subsea cable, which delivers the power from the bioWAVE to shore, will be installed during April-June 2015 and connected on-land to the electricity grid. The date for deployment and connection of the bioWAVE has not been set yet.
