EnQuest, an independent UK-based oil and gas company, has informed that works on the Enquest Producer FPSO at the OGN yard in Newcastle have been completed.
The 249m long Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel left the yard in Newcastle following major modification and life extension work.
According to Enquest, the vessel and has now successfully completed sea trials in deeper water nearby. The vessel will be used to produce oil from the Alma/Galia field in the UK North Sea.
In an e-mail to Offshore Energy Today, OGN, a company responsible for the works on the FPSO, shared a statement from EnQuest: “ The EnQuest Producer FPSO has now left OGN’s Hadrian yard at Wallsend and is relocating to Northumbrian Quay in the Port of Tyne for further work in preparation for sailaway to her final destination, the Alma/Galia oil field in the Central North Sea. Sailaway to the field continues to be expected in March.”
Enquest has said that the Alma/Galia is on course for first oil in mid-2015, with five wells now available to come onstream. A phased start up is planned, with one well coming onstream per week for the first month. Drilling on the Galia production well is to be completed and tied in during H2 2015.
EnQuest’s net 2P reserves for Alma/Galia increased slightly to c.26MMboe at the start of 2015, following the positive results from the wells which have been drilled.
For the full year 2014, EnQuest reported its production averaged 27,895 Boepd, up 15.2%, over 24,222 Boepd in 2013.
