Myklebust Verft and Volstad Maritime will hold an open vessel day aboard Grand Canyon II on Saturday March 21.

Back in March 2014, Kleven secured a deal with Ålesund-based ship owner Volstad Maritime for the delivery of two offshore construction vessels (OCVs), Grand Canyon II and Grand Canyon III.

Volstad originally placed the orders with Bergen Group Fosen, but the projects were moved to Kleven. The new building numbers assigned are 376 and 377.

The vessels are of ST 259 CD design from Skipsteknisk, and the sister vessel Grand Canyon was delivered from Bergen Group to Volstad in 2012.

The purpose built Offshore Construction/ROV/IRM Vessel, with deck area of 1650 square meters, will be equipped with 250 t AHC offshore crane with 3000 m wire.

Furthermore, Grand Canyon II will have a hangar for port and starboard launching of WROV’s, ROV workshop and maintenance area and offices and meeting rooms for ROV operations.

The 127 meters long vessel will have accommodation for 104 persons.

According to Volstad, the ceremony will be held in Ålesund between 14:00 and 16:00.
